Liz Wilkinson provides paid peer to peer support/mentorship for neurodiverse woman via Zoom or in person, where possible - outside of Safety Club.
Liz is not a qualified clinical professional but is a late diagnosed AuDHD woman, with dyslexia and complicated auto immune conditions plus has worked professionally in this capacity in Australia via NDIS and in AOD in New Zealand.
She has a special interest in personal safety for neurodiverse women and family neurodiversity.
She first became familiar with Autism while working as a Nanny (25 years ago) when her own ADHD/PDA daughter was small, caring for children who had special needs and was shocked to learn, 20 years later the school support system hadn't changed while working as a Non Enrolled Truancy Officer.
She instigated the visiting of Te Kura teachers to Secret Level - a Youth Venue in Lower Hutt - in 2010 which drastically increased education levels for kids doing correspondence from home.
Liz has been involved internationally in 12 step communities for over 25 years - witnessing the birth and development of the professional peer to peer sector in New Zealand which grew out of 12 step communities.
She has personally lived through multi systemic failures including state care abuse and the resulting abuse of the orginal abuse of coming from an unsupported family including loosing 3 Autistic female friends to domestic violence related homicide and medical neglect.
Her support is personal safety and solution focused, trauma informed and is provided in the acknowledged context that there is a lack of these kinds of services for Autisic/AuDHD woman and currently there is no national framework for neurodiverse peer to peer support workers.
Liz lives well with her own DSS supports and before the Autism co morbidities kicked in worked as a professional writer and mentored another neurodiverse teen gal in state care.
In the summer months Liz creates magical giant bubbles and outdoor bubble displays via her small business Bubble Mania New Zealand.

3. You have a teenage daughter or son.
Liz shares information about the multi generational targeting experienced by her and in her family via media channels that she tried to report for 7 years to:
There's no statistics in New Zealand about how many people are sexually attracted to kids or misunderstand that attraction so hide it however this Ted Talk is by someone whose worked with offenders and explains it's around 3% of the population.
Driven by her experiences Liz also did some investigation into to the types of therapy offenders recieve by speaking to a New Zealand based therapist and if you didn't know it's a fucking joke.
She shares the adult joke during her talk.
Even the Royal Commission got targeted but someone at Stuff newspaper doesn't recognise targeting either!!
